THE PROBLEM
Journeying to a new destination or foreign country can feel overwhelming, particularly for solo female travelers. Wanderlust wonder-women need a safer, more secure means to explore their travel aspirations with confidence, empowering them to boldly venture to new places.
Women's safety and confidence in traveling needs more attention.
According to a 2020 report from Overseas Adventure Travel (O.A.T.), "47% of travelers with Overseas Adventure Travel are registered as ‘solo' with an astounding 85% of these solo travelers being women”. Further, between 2018 and 2019 alone, O.A.T. also reports more than 60,000 women traveled solo. These numbers underscore the desire and demand amongst women to travel solo.
Additionally, in a 2021 survey conducted by Travelzoo, 56% of female respondents cited concerns about personal safety as a significant barrier to traveling alone, underscoring the significance of travel safety amongst the demographic.
There's a pressing need to provide a secure and empowering travel experience for women that can boost their confidence and contribute to the growth of the global tourism industry, broadening people's perspectives, enriching their lives, and benefiting economies and societies worldwide.

KEY GOAL
Create an app and complimenting landing page that empowers women travelers.

That is GlobeSurfers' motto.
Drawing inspiration from enchanting sunsets and sunrises all over the world, GlobeSurfers is a mobile app concept that blends the exchange of travel hospitality and advice.
On the GlobeSurfers platform, ID-verified women meet, greet, advise, and best of all, accommodate and homestay with fellow female travelers as one wholesome supportive community. They gain inspiration for their travel aspiration bucket lists and even gain access to an exclusive members-only community-driven blog filled with invaluable tips and tricks that covers everything from travel wardrobe tips to fascinating cultural insights from local perspectives to even the art of capturing breathtaking solo travel photos.
GlobeSurfers users are incentivized through a unique "Karma" rewards points system where they earn titles, badges, and "Karma Points" to apply towards their own travel goals by hosting, staying, reviewing, sharing, and contributing travel-related advice.

Landing pages are helpful for many reasons: increased visibility and discovery, information consumption, marketing and promotion, user acquisition, credibility and trust, and data and analytics being some of the many benefits of having a great landing page.
With GlobeSurfer's primary goal being to inspire and empower women to explore their travel passions safely and serendipitously, my goal was to create a landing page that was captivating, informative, and, above all else, filled to the brim with inspiration and empowerment for women to pursue their travel dreams.
